What a wonderful trip we had to Las Vegas January 28 - 30, 2011. Kiley's squad worked so hard this year. They overcame some serious obstacles. The girls learned 4 routines throughout the season. Usually they learn 1 -2 max. Kiley's team placed 1st at regionals in Anaheim but knew to compete at Nationals they were going to have to put together a more complex routine.
We had a few tears from several girls during the last week or two before competition...including Kiley. I asked her if she wanted to continue and she got so mad at me..."of course I do mom!" she yelled.
The girls showed up in Vegas with such excitement. They learned their routine in 6 weeks...competing against girls who may have been doing their routine for months. When they came out on that stage you could see they really wanted to win. I was shocked when I watched the video back, Kiley even blew kisses a couple of time during the routine...a little out of the box for her! I was so proud.
Their competition was fierce. We had to wait 5 hours to find out the results. The girls came in 2nd!! What an accomplishment!
